A tropical evergreen vine with a vigorous, self-clinging habit, able to climb most surfaces with aerial rootlets. Young leaves are heart-shaped, delicate, and light green. Mature leaves are larger, elliptic, leathery, and dark green. Popular as an indoor plant. Inedible, pear-shaped fruits sporadically develop on outdoor plants. Root system spreads invasively.
