A grassy-looking evergreen shrub that forms clumps of long, stiff, gray-green leaves with distinctive spoon-shaped bases. Leaf margins are serrated and sharp. Develops a stout trunk over time. Eventually bears large flowers spikes that can reach up to 15 feet high.
